Chris founded WideNet in 2005 as a website design company primarily focused on custom development due to his background in programming. As the world of marketing began moving aggressively online and the associated technology caught up, he oversaw the shift of the company from just website design to a full-service digital agency specializing in print and digital marketing, paid media, websites, email marketing, and branding.
Chris grew up as a Navy kid in Virginia before later moving to his mother’s hometown of Oxford, Alabama, where he attended high school. Chris is a graduate of Jacksonville State University’s School of Business & Industry, holding a BS in Management with an Information Management/E-Commerce concentration. He enjoys staying up to date with all the latest developments in the technology and marketing industries. He’s a lucky husband and dedicated father of three children.
Denise is our Director of Engagement, as well as our Marketing and Communications Architect. Denise spent 10 years with the Dallas Zoo (Dallas, TX) doing everything from website design and maintenance to social media and much, much more. Prior to the Dallas Zoo, Denise cut her teeth in the world of technology after falling face first into a job with Microsoft. If she survived the launch of WindowME – she can survive anything!
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Denise went to JSU and was a Marching Southerner. What started as a joke became a reality for Denise and her husband. Being a bit of a band nerd, they were married on the 50 yard line at Burgess-Snow stadium…by the head football coach (John Grass)….with over 450 Marching Southerners serving as part of the wedding party and the musicians for the wedding. Mental note: Even the funniest of jokes just might become a reality. She wouldn’t trade a thing though – it was perfection from start to finish. Denise likes to joke that she is the original “InstaGram” since she became an instant grandmother to her adorable grandson, Carter, that day as well. She’s a proud wife and bonus-mom and a doting GaGa to Carter. She’s even more proud to be back home in Calhoun County!
Mike enjoys working with clients to find the right solutions to help them meet their business goals. Mike is a life-long resident of Calhoun County, Alabama. He attended Jacksonville State University where he studied business and music before spending 15 + years in full time church ministry. Mike enjoys singing, spending time with his wife and children and watching Auburn football. War Eagle!
Tonya is our talented web designer. She oversees most design projects, as well as marketing efforts implemented by our clients and internally as well. Tonya is a native of West Des Moines, Iowa. She is currently a 3rd-year MFA Candidate in Visual Communication & Design at Jacksonville State University, (JSU), and holds a BA in Graphic Design, also from JSU. In 2016, her family grew by two! Her and her husband welcomed a baby boy and a baby girl. This summer they will turn 1 year old! She enjoys traveling and working out in her free time. She ran her very first half marathon in Atlanta in 2009, and has completed the Insanity fitness program, worked through the CrossFit program, and lives a very healthy, active lifestyle. In an unlikely coincidence, both she and Chris are part native Hawaiian.
Gary is one of our programmers, specializing in integrating the WideNet Control Panel into our client websites. He studied English, biology and music at Jacksonville State University, earning a BA in Liberal Studies in 2004. His experience with web content and related services spans two decades, including seven years managing online services for one of Alabama’s largest newspapers and media companies. A native of Marietta, Georgia, and longtime Calhoun County resident, he now lives with his wife and two children in Newton, Alabama. He enjoys hiking and fishing and is an avid fan of JSU Gamecock football.
Hannah is our receptionist and Administrative Assistant. Originally from Alabaster, AL, Hannah has been living in the Anniston/Jacksonville area for the past four years. As your first point of contact with WideNet, Hannah is here to help with her exceptional communication skills and bright personality.
Since coming to our area, Hannah has spent many hours with local community theatres in both Etowah and Calhoun Counties. In 2018 she won the Theatre of Gadsden Show Stoppers award for her performance as Electra in their production of Gypsy. In addition to theatre, she also teaches voice, violin, and piano lessons.
Hannah loves to spend her time reading, writing music, and cuddling with her fur babies Dexter and Titus.
We enjoy getting to know & understanding our clients, developing long-term partnerships and being the digital agency that you can turn to
